Cake Mashup

I've been wanting to take part in the Friday Mashup for a while, but have been so busy I've missed it. So this time I was going to take part straight away. As Amy my Gemstones Team Leader is the host for the DT and it is her last one I thought it was right to take part. So the Friday Mashup's challenge this week had the following inspiration:

So every week the Friday Mashup blog will give the inspiration as per above to create a project, but there is a twist you can mash it up with another inspiration. If the inspiration above isn't your cup of tea then you can use the other inspiration as per the outline below:

  1. Create a project with the colours "Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry, Smoky Slate & Basic Grey."
  2. Create a project with a "Cake."
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a project "with a Cake using the colours above."
So I decide to mash it up and use the colours as well as the cake on the following card:

I need a birthday card for someone so I used the Envelope Punch Board which is available at the end of the week here in the UK! I just couldn't help myself as I had just got my hand on it.

I used basic grey as my card base and used the Eastern Elegance DSP for my background I then used markers to colour the cake in the colours. I then used the labels framelits die to cut it out and then layered it onto Coastal Cabana which I cut in the next size up. I also ran the framelit that I had cut the cake out on the Coastal Cabana card putting through the Big Shot the other way so it would emboss the cardstock. I then layered it onto Basic Grey and used the Envelope Punch Board to round the corners and added some Coastal Cabana Ruffled Ribbon which I have only just got my hands on. I then used dimensionals to adhere to the rest of the card and then I stamped my sentiment in Smoky Slate and coloured the inside with the Coastal Cabana marker, I cut it out with the itty banner framelits. I shaped it like a banner and adhered one end with tombow and the other with dimensionals to keep the banner shape. I really love how the card came out :).

Here is a couple of close up's of the stamped cake and the file edge created by the Envelope Punch Board:

Thanks for Stopping By and keep stamping!
