Cake Mashup

I've been wanting to take part in the Friday Mashup for a while, but have been so busy I've missed it. So this time I was going to take part straight away. As Amy my Gemstones Team Leader is the host for the DT and it is her last one I thought it was right to take part. So the  Friday Mashup 's challenge this week had the following inspiration:  So every week the Friday Mashup blog will give the inspiration as per above to create a project, but there is a twist you can mash it up with another inspiration. If the inspiration above isn't your cup of tea then you can use the other inspiration as per the outline below: Create a project with the colours "Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry, Smoky Slate & Basic Grey." Create a project with a "Cake." Or Mash it Up and create a project "with a Cake using the colours above." So I decide to mash it up and use the colours as well as the cake on the following card:    I nee...

Colour Q 50

When I saw this week's colours at  Colour Q  I knew I wanted to take part and put all these colours together:  My work colleague is going to be 50 in a few weeks and I made a card for this great occasion and this is what I came up with:  I really enjoyed making this card, I got to colour in with such bright colours and use a new stamp set as well as a borrow one from a team member. I stamped the Apothecary Stamp in Rich Razzleberry and cut it out with the labels framelits and then coloured in with markers, using the sentiment from the same set in Bermuda Bay. Then I used the numbers from the Memorable Moments stamp set and punched it out with the Ticket Duo punch and layered it on some Primrose Petal with the scalloped oval punch. I then stamped the pansies from the Flower Shop stamp in each colour and then I stamped a couple more and used my markers to colour the petals on the one that looks like patch work. I then added some basic jewels and a cand...

Sketchbook Saturday meets Pals Paper Arts

So I thought I would show you something new since the online store is now available as per the link in the sidebar (shop now icon). You can all now get My Digital Studio (MDS) which is where you can create scrapbook pages, cards & your own stationery to suit you. I saw my team leader use the following sketch from Sketchbook Saturday  and was like I can use that for a scrapbook page. So I did an 8x8 page and use some great colours from the  Pals Paper Arts  page so inspiring: Here is the page that I came up with: The colours at Pals Paper Arts really said make a masculine page. So I used Early Espresso as my base and the Midnight Muse on part of the page. I then got the delicate doilies dsp and added as a page layer I then changed the colour to Crushed Curry as it was in Daffodil Delight. Added the stitching and sorted the colour out which took a while to get it right - I did use Chocolate Chip though as Early Espresso just looked like black. I...

Dynamic Christmas

Good Evening All, Hope you are enjoying your week, it is indeed the middle of the week and almost the weekend yet again. Then have to work 5 days!! Ahh seeing as this week and last week I only worked 4 days. Lucky hey. So here is what inspired.  At  Dynamic Duos  the challenge this week was using these great colours: So as you can tell from the title it was another Christmas card this week using the colours above. I really enjoyed making this card: I got the Ornament Keepsake stamps and matching framelits out again, coloured and inked them with the desired colours. To make my background I got the Mosaic Embossing Folder and brayered it on the  mosaic's in Calypso Coral ink and placed my Crisp Cantaloupe cordination's cardstock. I then placed the baubles on the top of the background and it just was crying out for something more to make the bauble's pop. So I got some silver glimmer paper and placed it behind and it just worked, I then cut a slight w...

Christmas Colour

Some great blogs out with sketches and challenges this week, so I took part in a couple even though I just missed taking part in one. This was  Freshly Made Sketches  where they are celebrating there 100th Sketch. The colour combination came from  Colour Q  it was very hard not to add some other Christmas Colours.  So here is the card that I came up with using these challenges: I got the Ornament Keepsakes out seeing as they have carried over from last year's autumn/winter catalogue. I then used my markers to ink up the stamp with island indigo, pacific point & early espresso. I inked the small bauble with the pacific point marker too (as don't have the ink pad yet..as always on my list, but other things seem to be more important), I then quickly searched for my lucky limeade ink pad and stamped the other bauble. Of course ran them through the big shot with the matching framelits. I had to then find some dsp to go with the colour combi...

Good Morning, Hope you are all well. I thought I would pop by with another challenge that I came across and want to have a go out. Birthday Grunge Colour Q

This weeks' Colour Q  inspired me to create something with the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp set here is the colour's that were given for what I have created: Such a great colour combination, I love Soft Sky & Calypso Coral together they just seem to pop and make such great companions. So I had some fun with the Gorgeous Grunge set and then I had to find something to go with this stamp set. I then got the Sketched Birthday stamp set and used the cake from the set with the Happy Birthday sentiment form Itty Bitty Banners. Here is the card: Thank you for stopping by  Jessie B xx Recipe: Stamps: Gorgeous Grunge, Itty Bitty Banners & Sketched Birthday Inks: Basic Grey, Calypso Coral, Soft Sky & Night of Navy Paper: Basic Grey, Soft Sky, Calypso Coral & Very Vanilla Accessories: Scallop Circle Punch & Calypso Coral Washi Tape from Epic Day

Mojo For You Throwdown

Hi All!  This week I had to make a card for someone that was leaving, I didn't have any 'sorry you're leaving' sentiments so I was a bit stuck what to do. I then looked at the sentiments I had and just went with a simple 'For you' & 'God Bless You'. This is what I came up with... To choose the colours I used this weeks Colour Throwdown  challenge: I also used a sketch from this weeks Mojo Mondays  blog: So I made this card by getting some Coastal Cabana cardstock and embossing it with the honeycomb EF, which I only did on 3/4's of the card, I also distressed it. I then used some Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock to use for main image, I then stamped on some Naturals White c/s using Flowering Flourishes in Rich Razzleberry & Strawberry Slush. I then got some dsp that had a Strawberry Slush pattern and made that my ribbon. I then cut some Coastal Cabana c/s and stamped in Rich Razzleberry with the Morning Meadow stamp s...

Colour inspiration

These are the colours I used to inspire my project this week... I have just received the chalk talk stamp set and framelits so want to use them in my creation. The Bermuda cardstock looked a bit bare so I stamped it. I used my stampamajig several times can you spot where. The recipe is as follows: Stamps: Chalk Talk, Summer silohuettes and Oh hello Ink: Bermuda Bay, Baked Brown Sugar and Crushed Curry   Card: Bermuda Bay, Baked Brown Sugar, Crushed Curry and Very Vanilla Tools: Stampamajig, Pearls and Chalk Talk framelits Have a lovely Saturday and thanks for popping by. Mosaic Madness

So I started playing around with Mosaic Madness when I received and it was my boyfriend's brother's 30th so I started playing with some of the new colours as well as new card. As you can see I did a straight forward card no fancy ribbon or flowers. Don't think a man would've liked that. Here it is... I used a square card base and positioned my Baked Brown Sugar cardstock on top. I then stamped some mosaic's and punched them out with co-ordinating punch. I used Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay &  Raspberry Ripple. I had previously stamped 30 and was trying to find a punch to co-ordinate, I then thought would the mosaic punch work after trying other options and it did! I used one of the border stamps so that the 30 didn't look bare against the background. I then stamped happy birthday and punched with the word window punch and used the modern window punch in some quatrefancy dsp to  enhance the greeting and stuck on the opposite corner to the 30.  ...
