Vintage Lace

So I recently got my hands on the lovely background stamp set 'Something Lacy' & I thought I would have a play. So I found a great sketch challenge at Fab Friday, as well as a Mashup challenge over at Friday Mashup!

Here are the challenges:

I decide to go with the Mashup & combine the vintage look with the embossed embossing technique. So this is what I came up with:

Here is a close up:

I went to my team mates class on the weekend & was inspired to do some shabby chic sort of cards, this isn't the sort of style I go for. I don't mind doing it at a class I'm attending, but I'm not drawn to doing this sort of card. So when I saw the Friday Mashup challenge & after attending the class & one of the cards she done reminded me of the challenge - I thought I better crack on.

It's amazing how just using some scissors or a distressing tool can give the paper such a different look. Adding ink also to the embossed paper gives that aged look. I used Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride & Rose Red to get this look. So effective.

Thanks for popping by to see my creation & see you here again soon.

Here is a close up of me getting this all ready:  With the banner I cut some scrap & using the stitched oval die I ran it through the big shot part w...
